Solar Marketplace — Buy & Sell Solar Systems Across Europe

A growing peer-to-peer marketplace for used and surplus solar equipment, complete solar systems, agri-PV projects, and balance-of-system components — listed directly by verified solar companies on Solar Directory.

What You'll Find on Solar Marketplace

  • Used and second-hand PV modules — typically from project upgrades, repowering and EOL inventory liquidation
  • Surplus inverters, batteries and mounting systems — new and lightly used, sometimes warranty-transferable
  • Complete solar systems for sale — operational PV plants ranging from rooftop commercial to utility-scale
  • Agri-voltaic installations — for farmers seeking dual land-use revenue
  • Components and spare parts — connectors, fuses, monitoring devices for repair and maintenance shops
  • Project rights and development pipelines — early-stage projects with permits, grid-connection studies or PPA negotiations underway

Buying Guidance

Before contacting a seller, verify the listing's company profile is claimed and ideally verified. For PV modules, ask for performance test reports (flash-test, EL imaging) and remaining warranty coverage. For inverters and batteries, request cycle counts and firmware versions. For operational PV systems, demand the last 12 months of yield reports, O&M history, grid-connection status and any pending repairs. Always inspect or commission an inspection of equipment before finalizing a purchase, especially for installations above 30 kWp.

Selling Guidance

Solar Directory's marketplace is free for verified companies. To list equipment or projects, log in to your company dashboard and click "Create Listing". Include high-quality photos, clear pricing (or "contact for quote" if negotiable), location, technical specifications (kWp, age, brand, condition), and any inspection or warranty documentation. Listings with complete specs and photos receive significantly more inquiries than minimal listings. We recommend updating the listing within 7-14 days if status changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Solar Directory's marketplace free to use?

Yes. Browsing listings is free for everyone, and verified solar companies can post listings free of charge. We do not charge transaction fees or commissions — buyers and sellers transact directly.

Are the sellers verified?

Marketplace listings are posted by companies listed on Solar Directory. Many — but not all — are verified through our 3-step identity check. Look for the verified badge on the seller's company profile. Unverified sellers may still be legitimate; ask for additional documentation if in doubt.

How do payments and shipping work?

Solar Directory does not process payments or handle shipping. Buyers and sellers negotiate payment terms (bank transfer, escrow, letter of credit for large deals) and logistics directly. For cross-border equipment shipments within the EU, factor in VAT, customs codes for solar equipment (8541 series), and shipping insurance.

What if there's a dispute between buyer and seller?

Because Solar Directory does not facilitate the transaction, disputes are between the parties. We can revoke a verified badge or remove listings if we receive substantiated complaints about misrepresentation. For legal disputes, both parties retain all rights under their local consumer-protection and commercial law.

Can I list non-solar equipment?

The marketplace is dedicated to solar-energy and related equipment: PV modules, inverters, batteries, mounting, monitoring, EV chargers, BESS systems, and adjacent components like trackers and cabling. Non-solar listings will be removed.
